Inconsistency sucks
Especially going through slow seasons when you have to pay your rent and bills The secret to staying consistent isn't how you well you market yourself, it's how you manage and keep your leads 100 new inquiries won't matter if you can't close, maintain and retain all of them - It won't help you to stay consistent 1) Know your numbers and know where your leads come from Most detailers run with what I call "hope and pray marketing" It goes like this: last month they are crushing it, this month they are on one knee on the ground praying to 9 religious gods for the phone to ring from their word of mouth/referrals And then they start running 25% discounts or competition on facebook undercutting themselves with little to no regards to what it does to their branding They can't put their finger on the source of where their work is coming from Figure out where exactly your lead source is coming from and double down on that making sure it's measurable and you're able to influence it (e.g facebook ads, google ads, partnerships, tons of ways to generate leads) And figure out how many leads it takes to close a job, and how many leads you need to generate per day to generate $x/month 2) Storing, maintaining and keeping your leads in the loop When someone says no, it doesn't mean no - It means not yet Why would you let them go? They will end up in your competitor's door. Keep them in the loop! When time comes, they WILL book their cars in and you want to be the FIRST person to come to their mind Collect and store all your lead information and keep them in the loop to let them know what you're up to, educate them with articles, show them transformation send them offers etc They LOVE it. They are just like you, they care about their cars if not they won't even enquire in the first place A basic CRM (customer relationship manager) can do all of that easily Best part? I retarget them and I appear everywhere they are on the internet. Each touchpoint I sent, it'll up my calendar with jobs eliminating slow seasons ever again Hope this helps you guys 👊 P.S last week I made a free short training video for detailers explaining 3 concepts on how to consistently book correction & coating clients and eliminate slow seasons in your detailing business for good, link in my bio. Are you running your detailing business consciously or unconsciously?
So what's with the philosophical quote, boy? I too hate wishy-washy philosophical quote like this but this quote has changed my life more than I can think of For a long time, I ran my business unconsciously. Everything is in chaos One month I'm crushing it, next month I'm begging for work Most importantly it left me stuck in the same place with filthy interiors and random enquiries to "can you fix the scratches on my camry" for a couple of years And every single day I'm hoping and pray for the phone to ring to bring for higher ticket correction and coating jobs The day I decided to make the unconscious conscious, that's where things started to change Just like I used to be, most detailers run their business unconsciously They don't know where their next correction coating job is coming from They do excellent work with word of mouth and referrals but it's not enough and it won't bring them far It's too unpredictable. Can you predict it can bring you x jobs/month? You can't But knowing your numbers can - knowing your closing rate and how many leads you need to generate daily to be consistent Many people live through lives unconsciously hoping one day they will become successful, or wish for x, y or z But I'm here to tell you that the more you hope for something, the more it won't happen Why? Because it's unconscious. You're not aware of the cause-effect. You're wishing and hoping, not doing and taking action to get it There's a difference between wish/hope and actually taking action "I hope to get more correction and coating jobs one day" "I wish I can move away from interior jobs and work on higher-end cars" VS "I'm DOING xyz now to target my ideal clients and generate leads to close them so I can reach my goals of $x/month" Why hope/wish? Why not do it? What's stopping you? Change starts from you getting conscious about your: - Goals - How and what to do to get there (sit down and work out the number of coating jobs you need this month, and the number of leads you need to generate to reach your goals) - Why you do things and is it helping you closer to your goals or further away? Stop doing things that isn't helping you to get to where you want to be. Once you start getting conscious about your life and your business, reaching your goals is just a matter of taking action and getting it done. Hope this helps motivate my detail brothers. Go crush it boys |
