Do NOT Rely On One Source To Get Bookings
I used to be obsessed with SEO Going to google with incognito 15 times a day to check my rankings like a ADD spastic to see whether or not if it improves It was unpredictable and unreliable like a rough sea And only occasionally I got clients who want high-end work, 80% of them are just pre-sale packages One of my biggest breakthroughs is doubling down on a stream where I can control, and can generate leads at my own will and not relying on someone's platform playing their rules like SEO That's when I cracked the code for generating leads consistently and not worrying about when my next client is coming in There are different (and better) ways to get clients such as networking, adwords, display network, retargeting, FB ads, email list etc just to name a few SEO should only be a bonus for your business. Your business have to survive without it and it shouldn't be something you put all your focus on

You're Losing Potential Clients!
Seriously, get on the phone Many detailers I've talked to they try to quote their prices over messages and they wonder why they get ghosted If you want to get yourself booked out, get on the phone If you want to get booked with your high-ticket services, get on the phone If you don't want to get price shopped, get on the phone If you want to bring more money in this week, get on the damn phone and start selling DO NOT sell with text, email or any other social media platforms Get them on the phone whenever they message you ASAP or better, get them to commit and come to you to have their car looked at Here's why Whenever you use email, text or any form of text communications with your potential clients, you don't have their full attention They are browsing on the internet, using social media, on TV etc and it's FULL of distractions The #1 thing they want when they enquire about your services, is to take away an option They want to sit and "think about it", which basically means they also want to look at other detailers and get a price there too You don't give them that option - Price should be the last thing to talk about Get on the phone, or in person. Then THOROUGHLY understand their situation Don't even try to sell without understanding what car, and what problems you're dealing with Prescribe a solution to that problem, and make sure they FULLY understand what they are getting and how you're going solve their problem And then close the sale and handle any objections come your way. BIG part of getting them to book with you is to know how to close and handle objections Objections like "Why is it so expensive", "I need to talk to my wife", "I need to think about it" etc You can choose to suck at sales and only book at $300 to $500 tops OR you crush it at sales and close $1,000 - $10,000+ To make FAT profits you NEED to be a good closer 💵 P.S I've dedicated an entire week on high-ticket sales with my uplevel detailing program - as well as my entire end to end methodology on consistently booking high-end correction and coating clients to grow your detailing business to the 6 figure calibre (and escape general detailing and interior jobs) It's a higher level program for serious players who wants to grow their detailing business and eat their competitor's lunch - strategies that top 1% of the detailing businesses will NEVER share or talk about If you're a dabbler, don't bother lol I probably won't entertain you but netflix will Time is limited and I'm only looking to work with serious detailers I'm currently offering a free 45-minute strategy session where we'll dive deep down where you are right now and where you want to grow this business to, and we'll map out how we can bridge that gap. I grew up having that mindset that if you want to achieve any types of success, you need to grind and work your ass off Especially growing up in an asian family, it's normal to study 15 hours a day to get like 2 degrees, 1 masters and wasting my entire early 20s in university/college to end up struggling to find a $40k/year dead-end job. Fuck that When I made some money flipping guitars, phones, and dj equipment when i was like 14 - 16 years old, deep down I knew being an entrepreneur was the path for me (I've never completed my N-levels, a high school dropout and I'm proud) For a long time I didn't know about the working smarter part and I'll just smash out any jobs come my way If you want to make BIG money in the detailing market, you need to work smarter Would you rather A) Book 30 clients every month for a $300 full detail OR B) Book 15 clients per month at $1,000+ and work MUCH lesser with happier clients who respect and LOVE your work I learned that higher-end clients have MUCH cleaner cars (as they take good care of it), and they are willing to pay a LOT more, even cars that are brand new Soccer mum's SUV or daily joe's corolla is a nightmare and their car is usually neglected with spilled coffee and dried up candies When I learned that, I immediately made the switch and transitioned into the high-end market To put it in perspective, your normal detailer joe charges $250-$300 for an in and out full detail on a normal car and it takes them about 4-5 hours VS One of my best client's maintenance wash every month or 2 on a Bentley Continental Flying Spur and a Porsche 911 GTS at $250 each and it takes us less than 2 hours for each car, $500 in total and they are usually not that dirty or grimey And less than a day for ceramic coating on brand new cars and it starts at $1,000 And by the way, Mercedes-Benz charges 2-3x more than what I charge for paint protection and dealership protection (dont get me started lol) it's seriously subpar compared to ceramic coatings One of my clients was ranting on the phone about getting quoted $3,200 from mercedes for his brand new GLC - $1,500 for an aftermarket coating delivering next level results really is a no brainer Looking to transform your detailing business to the next level with consistent high-paying clients? I have a program called Uplevel Detailing and it does exactly that. I help detailing business to consistently book high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating, and PPF clients and play at the 6-7 figure calibre working less Just a warning though, this program is not for everyone. No more generic full detail or interior jobs with cut-throat competition (or at least those jobs are being delegated) And moving to only work on high-end cars with high-ticket services with Paint Correction, Ceramic Coatings and PPF day in and out CONSISTENTLY and making 6-figures How does one get there? You need to master these 4 key components: #1 Branding Ask yourself: Does my brand communicate to the high-end market? Does my work communicate to the high-end? Toyota and Bentley are both cars with 4 wheels, but they are both serving a completely different world of people and market To transition to high-end work, your branding NEEDS to reflect on it You can't put a $200,000 price tag on a new corolla compared to a Porsche #2 Sales Sales are one of the BIGGEST sticking points when detailing businesses are transitioning to the higher end market but most detailers aren't aware of this "Got a lead enquired about us, told them my price and never heard from them again" "Client never showed up" "I want to think about it, I'll get back to you" If you ask me, what's the one and the only thing that made the biggest shift? I'll tell you straight up is sales You can pretty much bomb everything, your website, your social media, your branding but if you know how to sell, then you will never go hungry because you have the ABILITY to close anyone who comes your way Even if everything fails, you can get a job as a commissioned salesman and make tons of money. Having sales skills is your #1 biggest assets (ask any successful businessman and he will tell you the same thing) Closing anything above $600 requires a fairly decent sales skills #3 Marketing Marketing is when you put yourself out there in front of your potential clients and generate leads like a machine Marketing comes AFTER sales. If you can't close your current leads, you don't have a marketing problem. You have a sales problem. To get to the 6-figure calibre you need to master your marketing to generate leads consistently with predictability #4 Operations One of the biggest part of the business a lot of detailers overlook They are AMAZING detailers but they are not businessmen The top players are good at both, and seeing your entire business as a system and machine With mastering the operations, you can run your business like a well-oiled machine and scale your business to the 6-7 figure calibre 3 key operations that need to run effectively before scaling 1) Generating leads 2) Closing leads 3) Service Delivery Ask yourself: - How am I generating leads consistently with predictability? - How am I closing leads systematically at a consistent closing rate? - How am I delivering the service? Is it efficient? Do I need to hire workers and contractors? Once you master these 4 components, you are playing at the top 1% in this industry If you're looking to level up your detailing business - shoot me message and let's chat I help detailing business owners grow to the 6-figure calibre by booking high-end clients consistently and transition to detailing 2.0 with my 6-week uplevel detailing program I'm currently offering a free 45-minute strategy session where we'll dive deep down where you are right now and where you want to grow this business to, and we'll map out how we can bridge that gap. Click here to schedule your FREE 45-minute strategy session P.S take action before your competitors do and end up eating your lunch 😉 Seems like a recurring theme when a lot of detailers I've talked to told me:
"Can't charge more than $300 in my area" "Clients tell me they want to think about it and never heard from them again" "My clients demand a lot from me" Business is a reflection of yourself, like a mirror What I'm going to talk about today is more of a self-development post, not so much on tactics As self-development is often MORE important than tactics It's like giving you the best and finest Katana sword for your upcoming battle - if you don't know how to use it it's pretty much useless anyway I can teach you the BEST business tactics of the entire industry, but if you don't have the mindset to back it up you're screwed Now, back to the topic I used to struggle to charge more than $350 for a full detail I originally thought: - it was the market - it was my marketing - it's the industry I remembered when I was buying car parts for my CE9A Evo 2 (god I wish I never sold it 🤦🏻♂️), I NEVER, not once looked at premium parts I always thought they were too expensive. I've always bought cheap parts: cheap tires, cheap boost gauge, 2nd hand manifold and always bargaining for a good deal, always wants to think about it What do you think when I started my business what kind of clients did I attract? The cheap ones - the ones pinching every penny for a good deal and expect the world for it Everything shifted when I started investing in proper tools - good compound, my first Rupes LHR15ES mk1, then LHR21ES mk2, proper coating brands Wasn't cheap but I came from a mindset of INVESTMENT rather than cutting cost for a quick profit Suddenly I started booking clients from $500 - $800 I invested myself in all sorts of different business trainings, and then I noticed my clients invested in me I thought it was a strange coincidence, but it's not I started giving more value to my clients, I've never told any of my vendors or any of other businesses that I want to "think about it" My business shot up to the next level, start booking in 4-figure jobs This particular Audi A6, was the first client told me within a split second "done, when can you do it" when I quoted him $1,500 on the spot It's not in the big picture, it's in the subtleties you carry yourself. Your tone, your voice, your vibe, your charisma it's all interconnected to one another You might write off as woo-woo but I'm telling you, you can't hide or run from it. It's always there, the natural law of the universe. My numbers don't lie ;) I remembered being frustrated about why barely anyone would book with me after hearing my prices..
Prospect: “looking to get my car detailed and polished, how much do you charge?” Me: “Ok so paint correction starts from $600” Prospect: “Nah too much” *beep* That’s exactly how you lost a potential client and struggle with cut-throat competitions.. I had an epiphany when I was taking a sales training and I learned that: If your prospect doesn’t fully understand what your offer is, any given price will be expensive Imagine if I was trying to sell you a smartphone without telling you the brand, or any specific details about the smartphone. Then I told you it’s $1,000 You would think, man that’s bloody expensive But what if I told you it’s a brand new iPhone XS, and then I told you the price afterwards - you would think $1,000 is a steal! Out of most prospects I talk to, most of them don’t even know what paint correction, ceramic coating and all that jazz words we use in this industry Especially when selling high-ticket detailing services, paint corrections, ceramic coatings etc, you NEED to educate what your prospects are getting! Let’s put ourselves in our prospect’s shoes and positioning ourselves that paint correction will save them from a $5,000 - $10,000 respray job - $1,000 paint correction really is a no-brainer The timing when you tell the prospect the price is crucial. Rule of thumb is to NEVER give the price unless your prospect asks for it (that's when they are ready to hear how much is it) NEVER give quotes over email, message or any text communications. Get them on the phone or in person, educate, position yourself and close DO NOT Hire A Digital Agency If You Want To *Actually* Grow Your Detailing Business
4 years ago I went through 3 biggest digital agency here in Melbourne which I shall not name.. The first agency I went through is for my website. They screwed up with a broken template, did not give me backend access and did not answer to my phone or emails The second agency was to work on my SEO with the tagline "You do not pay until we get you to the first page" - turns out under the contract is they will start charging the moment ranking improves After about 2-3 weeks in, they sent me a report that my website actually ranked on the first page I was happy, jumping with joy hoping it's going to rain in jobs So I jumped onto my computer with Safari and open in an incognito window to check my SERPs, I did not get to the first page! I then found out they gave me my report BASED ON their personalized search results! The third agency I went through was with my Google ads (formerly Adwords) campaign Before hiring the third agency my PPC campaign was crushing it I thought i'll get a professional to look into it and further optimize my conversions They fucked my campaign up I was seriously pissed, even best agencies with google awards or whatever couldn't even deliver I was obsessed with marketing and sales ever since to grow my business You could hire an agency to stuff you around with your marketing around OR I could just give you my entire premium website installed with just 1-click.. My landing pages for my FB ads campaigns that generated me consistent high-ticket clients with just 1-click.. My sales script that closed 4 figure clients systematically.. My entire Facebooks ads strategy.. (also end to end on how to transition out from doing general and interior details to the high-end market with paint correction, ceramic coatings and PPF jobs) So you don't ever need to hire an agency again Agency could give you a fish, but I can teach you how to fish and fish for yourself for life I go all out in my 6-week uplevel detailing program where I help detailing business owners grow to the 6-figure calibre by consistently getting high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF clients with predictability in 6 weeks All the business side of things that I figured it all out with my blood, sweat and tears running my detailing business I help detailing business owners grow to 6 figures by consistently getting high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF clients with predictability in 6 weeks - If this sounds like you, schedule a time with me and let's talk. I hated interior and general grime jobs when I started out It doesn't pay much, it doesn't bring much value and doesn't really make a difference I remembered busting my ass on a $250 detail from day to night just for a client to just to say "oh cool" and not looking twice even though I gave it the best I could And brutally competing for prices with competitors like a reverse auction 50 other jim john james detailing is offering the same exact same thing How can you possibly stand out from the competition offering the same thing as everyone else..? Everything shifted for me when I started moving away from general details and transitioning into the higher-end market and offering high-ticket services - Paint Correction - Ceramic Coating - PPF Where all the BIG money is hidden in the detailing world With high-ticket services, everything tips to the other side of the 80/20 scale With interior and grime jobs, 80% effort gets 20% of revenue where high ticket services, 20% of the effort makes 80% of the revenue And 20% of high-ticket clients take up 80% of the interior and grime jobs revenue The beauty of shifting to the high-end market, there's nothing much to worry about competition as high-end detailers is at a market of their own When you're at that level, rarely clients will doubt your work and rarely clients will say things like "Oh but jim john james detailing offer $150" - Basic Paint Correction starts from $600 to $1xxx - Ceramic Coating jobs starts at least at $1,000 to $2,500 - and PPF jobs can range from $500 - $10,000 (Cool thing is you can stack these jobs on top on one another for the same client) To make $100k/year, let's break in down $100,000 / 52 weeks = $1,924/week Really you only need a couple of ceramic coating jobs a week and few other higher ticket detailing jobs to cover marketing and product cost Looking to transition out from doing interior and grime jobs to the higher end market and making 6-figures working less? I help detailing business owners grow to the 6-figure calibre by consistently getting high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF clients with predictability in 6 weeks - If this sounds like you, shoot me a message and let's talk I'm currently offering a free 45-minute strategy session where we'll dive deep down where you are right now and where you want to grow this business to, and we'll map out how we can bridge that gap. Click here to schedule your FREE 45-minute strategy session The 4 Things You Need To Scale Your Detailing Business To The 6-7 Figure Calibre
Barely anyone knows how to scale a detailing business Even if they do, they don't talk about it or share it with others. It's their business "secret recipe" yo I've worked with several businesses and scaling a service-based business is one of the hardest, if not THE hardest thing to do I do not believe in keeping secret recipes - I believe in providing the highest value to others In business, the person who provides the highest value wins While businesses hide their secrets, I give all my secrets out (not only my secrets, but also your competitor’s secret too. I know exactly how they run their businesses and how they get their high-paying clients 😉) To get to the 6-7 calibre you need to see yourself as a business owner and a salesman, not a detailer There are PLENTY of amazing detailers out there but they are just not business-minded "I'll just do my best and let my work speaks for itself" "Word of mouth will spread itself" Yes, word of mouth is the best form of advertising but it's VERY unpredictable and you CAN'T rely on it to bring consistent work Especially when your family's food depends on it If you don't know how to sell yourself, then you will always struggle to get high-paying clients.. So here are the 4 things you need to scale your detailing business: ➡️ 1) A system to GENERATE high-quality leads to get them through the door How do you generate leads? What is your #1 go-to method to generate leads when you don't have clients booked for the following weeks and you have to pay rent? Most detailers CANNOT answer this question. They say things like: "erm, probably just wait until the phone rings" "It's just a bad season, it's school holidays, christmas, queens birthday blah blah blah" You need a system that can generate leads consistently with predictability ➡️ 2) A finely tuned and honed sales process to CONVERT leads to high-paying customer Getting leads is only a quarter of the equation, another part of the equation is how do you convert leads into a high-paying client? That's where high-ticket detailing sales comes into place Knowing the exact steps and process of turning a phone call into a high-paying client Most detailers SUCK at sales How do you know if you're bad at sales? Is when you can't book a general detail for more than $300. $300 is child's play When you start booking your services at $1,000-$5,000 consistently, that's when you know you're crushing it with sales How? Shifting from selling features to solutions to their problems Your clients don’t care your process on how you do things, your clients only care about the results of your work No use explaining how many hours you’re going to do, what you’re going to include etc when the only thing they care about is the result Ask what problem do they have and why they are getting it done, and use that to close the sale - not what you’ll do And also having a script, and a method to systematically close sales that you know it works ➡️ 3) Service delivery - hiring and managing A-players This is where a lot of detailing business owners get stuck, and they can’t move forward from this point They can't handle the work themselves, so they start hiring people and training them but they just don't know how to find the right people and manage them But when you first start hiring people, hiring a team should NOT be the first thing you do Hire contractors first. It’s easy to start with and it’s easy to manage as they are not a part of your payroll There are plenty of good contractors out there to start working with Hiring and being a team player is a whole ball of another dimension of the game vs a solopreneur Talented A-players are extremely hard to find, and they NEED convincing to work for your company in the long run. It’s not just paying them a salary and expect them to perform. Talented A-players are in this more than just money Ask yourself these questions: - Why would someone want to join my team? - What is my company’s vision, mission statement and core values? - What is my company’s culture? (Culture is HUGE. Culture defines someone’s work ethic when you as a boss are not looking) - Growth and incentives? Do NOT settle for B or C players. B players breed lower quality players and will only give you headaches ➡️ 4) Economics - Running your business like a well-oiled machine Once you have the first 2 parts honed and refined, you should be making at least make $10k/month. Now it’s time to scale up the business to high 6 figures or even 7 figures: 1) You know how to generate leads predictably 2) You know how to convert leads systematically The final piece of the puzzle is how to optimize your service delivery to run it like a machine Ask yourself: - How long does it take to complete my X service from end to end? - Can the service delivery be delivered without me being there? - How can I optimize the service to turn around faster, more efficient without compromising the quality of the work? - How much volume can I bring in to my service delivery machine, if not, how can I optimize to bring in more volume? - Volume = work = profit Here’s the view of the whole economic system: Input > Process > Output - The Input is cranking up your lead generation system - The process is your lead conversion and service delivery - The output is how satisfied your customer Once you run your business as a system, and it’s refined to the point it's running like a well-oiled machine - you can start cranking it up and pump volume through the system and scale it to the moon 😏💪 I help detailing business owners grow to 6 figures by consistently getting high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF clients with predictability in 6 weeks If you want to level up your detailing business and scale things up to the next level, I'm currently offering a free 45-minute strategy session where we'll dive deep down where you are right now and where you want to grow this business to, and we'll map out how we can bridge that gap. To charge high prices, some might argue branding does not matter True to some niches and industries, but not in the detailing industry You’re in the ego-driven business. No one gives a shit if you’re the best detailer in the world if your branding doesn’t reflect that One mistake people make is thinking branding is only about the logo Branding is about the VIBE of your entire business Your uniform, the way you present yourself, the way you talk, your rig etc “The First Four Seconds: You have to make a good first impression and you can't do it just using words” - Jordan Belfort in his Straight Line Persuasion program Will you trust a local, rusty and greasy workshop that services 20-year old Fords and Toyota all day to work on your 6 months old Bentley? A tiny few probably will, most Bentley owners won’t Or will you go to a workshop that specializes in high-end prestige cars? Imagine Great Wall (a Chinese carmaker in case if you don’t know 😂) starts selling a medium-sized sedan with a price tag of $100,000, no one would even consider Now imagine if Bentley starts selling a new medium-sized sedan for the same price tag of $100,000 - it’s considered cheap and probably TONS people would line up for it There’s a reason why Toyota created Lexus to target the higher end luxury market If you want to get high-paying clients, especially in the automotive and the detailing industry - you need to brand yourself to the higher-end market Necessary? Some will argue it’s not But does it builds trusts, confidence in your branding for potential clients to book your services at a high premium price? Absolutely yes 🙌🏻 Looking level up your detailing business to escape doing general and interior details to doing high-end work with high paying clients on a consistent basis? I help detailing business owners grow to 6 figures by consistently getting high-paying paint correction, ceramic coating and PPF clients with predictability in 6 weeks - If this sounds like you, schedule a time with me and let's talk.
