Seems like a recurring theme when a lot of detailers I've talked to told me:
"Can't charge more than $300 in my area" "Clients tell me they want to think about it and never heard from them again" "My clients demand a lot from me" Business is a reflection of yourself, like a mirror What I'm going to talk about today is more of a self-development post, not so much on tactics As self-development is often MORE important than tactics It's like giving you the best and finest Katana sword for your upcoming battle - if you don't know how to use it it's pretty much useless anyway I can teach you the BEST business tactics of the entire industry, but if you don't have the mindset to back it up you're screwed Now, back to the topic I used to struggle to charge more than $350 for a full detail I originally thought: - it was the market - it was my marketing - it's the industry I remembered when I was buying car parts for my CE9A Evo 2 (god I wish I never sold it 🤦🏻♂️), I NEVER, not once looked at premium parts I always thought they were too expensive. I've always bought cheap parts: cheap tires, cheap boost gauge, 2nd hand manifold and always bargaining for a good deal, always wants to think about it What do you think when I started my business what kind of clients did I attract? The cheap ones - the ones pinching every penny for a good deal and expect the world for it Everything shifted when I started investing in proper tools - good compound, my first Rupes LHR15ES mk1, then LHR21ES mk2, proper coating brands Wasn't cheap but I came from a mindset of INVESTMENT rather than cutting cost for a quick profit Suddenly I started booking clients from $500 - $800 I invested myself in all sorts of different business trainings, and then I noticed my clients invested in me I thought it was a strange coincidence, but it's not I started giving more value to my clients, I've never told any of my vendors or any of other businesses that I want to "think about it" My business shot up to the next level, start booking in 4-figure jobs This particular Audi A6, was the first client told me within a split second "done, when can you do it" when I quoted him $1,500 on the spot It's not in the big picture, it's in the subtleties you carry yourself. Your tone, your voice, your vibe, your charisma it's all interconnected to one another You might write off as woo-woo but I'm telling you, you can't hide or run from it. It's always there, the natural law of the universe. My numbers don't lie ;)
