In competition, somebody has to lose. There's a contrast of a winner and loser
I have observed probably about more than 5,000 detailing businesses in the past few years (Which realistically I'm barely even scratching the surface. There are more than 60,000 detailing business in the states alone) And they more or less looks exactly the same Similar branding, similar websites, pricing, packages etc, even with the rise of coatings in the past 5-7 years with the exact same marketing, message, and similar media and promo videos It's an extremely competitive market. How many times have your potential clients go to someone cheaper? Even though I have amazing clients who understand my value and my craft, they are extremely rare. It's probably only about 0.5 - 1% of people who enquire Which is exactly why I'm introducing the new-age of detailing businesses - where we define our own unique market without having to compete with each other What happens if you define your unique market? You're in a market on your own and not competing with everyone else You barely get any competition, and you command your prices to charge what you're worth You become a specialist, not a general detailer You get to work on your favourite type of vehicles whether it's supercars or trucks And not random soccer mum SUV or your average joe's toyota camry that just needs a "clean" If you're a generalist and target everyone you get the worst jobs and you get no one Detailing is an extremely broad term. It can mean just a wash and wax? Interior clean? Polishing to gloss it up? Paint correction to restore paintwork? Or maintaining a vehicle's shine, or protection? Most of the time when someone enquires you, they don't even know exactly what they want. But if you niche down and define a unique market, your marketing and sales becomes 10x easier and stronger than the rest of the competition "I detail cars" VS "I specialise in correcting and restoring British vehicles" or "I specialise in ceramic coating European vehicles" or "I specialise in restoring and preserving 90s JDM vehicles" Just that little shift it changes your business entirely - Your target market will ONLY go to you and not anyone else, will not price shop, will travel across states just to get their vehicles done by you When comes to running and growing a business to the 6-7 calibre in this era, it's not only about delivering a great quality service It's a system as a whole where there's also - Foundations, ideal clients, pricing and backend structure - Branding - Sales - Targeted marketing (with the current landscape of social media PPC ads) - Business operations - Hiring and managing top talent and build an all-star team - Principles and mindset All and each of those it's just as important as any part of the business as a whole The actual running and growing the business side of detailing that no one really has talked about or even teach in this industry - especially in this new age of detailing where there's tons of competition and how to market yourself and not drown If you're looking to be on the front line of the new age of detailing, I have something for you I help detailers book high-value clients consistently and grow their business to the 6-figure calibre through my Uplevel Detailing™ program which covers end to end of the entire system as mentioned above You can either try it yourself and spend 3-10 years to figure it all out by yourself, or I can give you the shortcut in 6 weeks, which it took me tens of thousands of hours and dollars to figure it all out 😉 I'm currently in taking only a couple more students for September and October. If you're serious about getting to the next level, shoot me a message and let's talk
